Students released without charge

The students arrested at the protest earlier today have now been released without charge after spending six hours in police cells. Thanks for all those who came to the police station to show solidarity with them, they were delighted to see a large crowd outside to collect them. Shame on the University of Birmingham for calling in police onto campus to help break up a peaceful protest. When is this reactionary institution going to realise that its old tactics of intimidation don’t work anymore? The ban on protests and disciplinary of Simon Furse will not be accepted by students and we will not stay silent whilst being attacked like this.
